Our Qualifications Explained
OUR QUALIFICATIONS EXPLAINED
We offer both Open College Network West Midlands Level 3 Diploma and City & Guilds Levels 2 and 3 Diploma qualifications, but what is the difference?
Both are regulated under Ofqual which regulates qualifications, examinations and assessments in England. Both are recognised by the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ). In simple terms the standard of qualification you will receive is identical in terms of educational credits.
Both ensure you have the skills and knowledge to work as a commercially effective professional dog groomer and set up your own business should that be your plan.
At The Dog House we provide identical training for both qualifications. The only differences are the manner in which each is assessed and the costs involved. (£4500 for the full OCN Level 3 Diploma training and qualification and £5500 for C&G Level 2 and Level 3 Diploma training and full qualification.)
The Open College Network West Midlands Level 3 Diploma requires no prior experience or pre-requisite Level 2 qualification to register, where as the City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma requires the successful completion of the C&G Level 2 Certificate before commencing on to the Level 3.
Our Open College Network West Midlands Level 3 Diploma delivers a balance between theory and practical learning and is assessed holistically over 10 modules either here on-site at The Dog House or whilst working in your own business. It has NO final written exams. City & Guilds Level 2 and Level 3 Diploma is assessed over six formal units and has a summative 2 hour online written exam which is only available at a recognised centre, twice a year.
So basically the choice is yours.
